Residential Manager Grandview Apartments $5,000 retention bonus

Department: TPC GRANDVIEW APARTMENTS
Location: Providence, RI

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Residential Manager Grandview Supported Apartments will coordinate the operations of and provide clinical oversight and support for all psychosocial needs, including mental health, substance use, medical, environmental, and housing for those living in the TPC residential facility.

Directly supervises the full-time employees at the residential programs. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Center policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate the operation and programming for group residence.

Work in conjunction with managers of other residential programs to provide coverage and support and leadership when needed.

Ensure Center standards of care are met for consumers.

Supervise staff. Conduct regular supervision meetings with staff and maintain record of the meetings.

Ensure the periodic supervision of overnight staff by visiting the staff during their shifts.

Interview and hire potential staff for open positions.

Provide leadership to staff regarding training, risk management, day-to-day matters, etc.

Facilitate and environment that supports staff participation and encourages self direction and team building.

Provide leadership around programming matters; recreational, staffing, clients; develop and implement new initiatives, etc.

Ensure the quality and timely completion of Health Information Services (HIS) and other documentation of group home staff.

Develop staff schedules to meet program needs.

Screen potential residents and co-lead referral group with other Center staff.

Monitor operational cost to insure fiscal integrity.

Ensure the residences are up to standards for semi-annual safety/building inspections.

Ensure quarterly evacuation process occurs in the residences.

Work with the Residential Nurse to develop and maintain residents’ treatment plans and to monitor medications.

Run weekly staff meetings at designated residences.

Administer Center policies.

Promote communication and coordination of services.

Maintain active involvement in professional and mental health organizations within the community.

Work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends, holidays and overnight).

Cover between group residences as needed.

Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences.

Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, consumers, community agencies and the public.

Serve on appropriate Center committees.

Attend meetings and report committee activities to staff.

Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychiatric nursing, psychology or related field.

Three-to-five years of experience with the chronically mentally ill, preferably in a residential facility.

More than two years prior supervisory experience required.

Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection and insured automobile.

Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation, psychotropic medication and case management.

Strong program development skills.
